Pole Green Beans

I have pretty pole bean plants about 5 ft high but no beans yet. Is this normal? This is my first attempt at growing these beans. Some of the leaves have turned dark brown almost black on the ends, is this heat, too much water, not enough water. Can someone help? Thank you!
