When I find nests, I kill them, but I live outside of town where they have lots of places to hide. Maybe I'll try to hunt them out tonight. Wish me luck :) Thanks for your reply!

Yes, they do look like yellow and black wasps. I have no idea where they are nesting and probably could never find and kill all of them. I tried to pick the tomatoes a little before they are ripe and the wasps then attack tomatoes before ripe. I...

Are these the wasp-like things with bumblebee coloration? If so, and they nest in a hive you might have to seek that out and destroy it with readily available sprayable chemistry. Failing that you might have to pick the tomatoes just before they ...

Gosh Don, it sounds like you're doing everything right! Yellow-green leaves make me think they need iron but with the Miracle Grow I think you've covered that base. Why don't you ask Debbie Benge Frost, the local expert at: Email: dbenge@ag.tamu.e...

They start out yellow-green instead of deep green, they dry and yellow, then brown and plant dies. I water daily and miracle grow weekly, and are mulched. Sunlight all day. Thanks for caring.

Triassic and Cretaceous fossils needed at the Sibley Nature Center

Midland has hundreds of geologists. The Sibley Nature Center soon will be beginning construction on elements of our million-dollar improvements, including two rock walls embedded with fossils from the Triassic and Cretaceous periods. These two geologic eras have many outcroppings at the surface in the breaks and canyons habitat bordering the Llano Estacado. We hope a number of Midland's geologists would like to donate specimens of Triassic and Cretaceous fossils they have collected over the years to incorporate in these walls.

Celebrity Celebration

The Celebrity tomatoes are ripe! Well at least the first one was ripe this week and there are more delicious tomatoes to come. There is a victorious feeling since these plants have survived (at least for the time being) hail, drought, blazing heat and disease!!! 8-))

Mmmmm...

Just made a margherita pizza with homemade sauce and way, way, WAY too much basil from my patio garden. It was deliciously awesome (yet somehow, also awesomely delicious).
